What is strength training?

Strength training uses the principle of progressive overload to force the body (muscles, bones, tendons, etc.) to adapt in order to be able to produce and resist greater forces.

What are the benefits of strength training?

Strength training for tennis can help prevent injuries and enable an athlete to perform at a higher level on court.

Court Conditioning

How many days should I train on my fitness?

I believe that doing something active everyday is beneficial. There is no magic number on how many days an athlete should train. I would suggest participating in a program that will incorporate strength training and overall conditioning.

Should I take a day off?

Yes, I recommend taking a day off, but on the day off go for a casual walk around the block to keep the blood flowing and the muscles working.

What should I do if I suspect an injury?

What and see if it lingers. For the first few days I would take anti-inflammatories 3 times a day, ice, and rest. If your injury lingers please consult your doctor.

Flexibility

Why do I need to stretch?

It enables a person to perform at an optimal level, reduces the risk of injuries, and enables a person to be properly warmed up.

Some people say sleep is so important, why is that?

Sleep is vital for success. One should attempt to sleep 8 hours per night in order to reach their maximum athletic potential. Insufficient sleep will lead to fatigue, burnout, and laziness.

Nutrition

What should I eat before I play?

Turkey or grilled chicken sandwich with mustard, apple, saltine crackers, banana, energy bar, 8 oz. of Gatorade.

What should I eat after a match?

Eat carbohydrates within 30 minutes of completion of the match and a protein source within 2 hours.

If I forget my password, how can I get access to it?

Go to My Account Page and click on Forgot your Password and it will be emailed to you.

What day of the month will my credit card be charged for purchased services?

Accounts are charged 1 month from the date that the services were started and continue every month from that date. If you started the service on 1/2/2009, you would be billed 2/2/2009, 3/2/2009, etc until the billing was cancelled.

Does the meal and/or exercise log show history of my account?

Yes, the different logs show history from previous days and months, so long as you entered something.

How does the recurring billing work?

All users will be billed every month until they cancel. They must cancel before the next billing date.

Can I schedule online without creating an account?

No. This is not possible. You must create an account to schedule a session. It is free to create an account.

How much does it cost to use the My Goals log?

This is a FREE service.

Can I schedule online and still pay by cash or check?

Yes, you will have the option to pay either by check, cash, or credit card.

Can I pre-pay for sessions without booking appointments?

Yes, you can purchase as many sessions as you like without booking an appointment.

What is included if I purchase both the exercise and meal log?

You will receive a one-on-one consultation in which we will create a customized program for you. You will also receive a monthly review of your meal or exercise log. This can be in person or over the phone.

What days of the week are your group fitness classes?

Tuesdays from 8-9am, Thursdays from 6-7pm, and Fridays from 11-12pm.
